Don Marquis is a small booklet containing a single essay In memoriam to DeC’s friend shortly after his death in 1937. Don Marquis was a prolific writer and newspaper columnist who was most well known for his Archie and Mehetibel characters.

The booklet begins with the following quote:

Speed, I bid you, speed of the earth
Onward with a shout of mirth!

The entirety of Don Marquis was reprinted in IMP, The Poetry of Benjamin DeCasseres, it falls after Don Marquis’ own introduction originally published in the second edition of The Shadow-Eater.
